"Inspiration!
Hello. I recently decided, after learning of Juan Moore’s wonderful Gighibition idea - where he took songs by Manx songwriter’s and created wonderful art inspired by their work - to try a reverse process and use Artworks by artists, resident in or from the Isle of Man to write songs inspired by their work. Turns out I became very inspired indeed!
Having only started a few weeks ago I have so far created 5 completed songs and am still beavering away on several more - who knew?! Here is the first song inspired by a beautiful drawing by Svetlana Cameron “The Morning Light”, who in turn became inspired by my song and is now using it in her exhibition at the Sayle Gallery in May - a delightful and quite unexpected outcome of an interesting and productive experiment.
I hope you in turn are also inspired not only by the songs but of course by the wonderful creative artworks that inspired me. I’ll post more songs and their correlating artwork once I have permission from the artists ... thanks!
