"..amazing, genre defying vocals..Collister embraces all styles of music from folk to country, jazz to gospel, pop to blues. Whatever the genre she makes the song her own...without doubt she has one of Britain's finest voices, powerful and soulful but never overbearing or histrionic...a remarkable performance balancing power and passion with purity and clarity all underpinned by a formidable vocal technique and an unerring eye for a good tune. All this is delivered along with a true sense of fun and a refreshing lack of pretentiousness." - Ian Mann reviewing CC in Hereford, 7th September 2006. For full review visit 24dash.com

"..I hate to make comparisons, but if you love the tonal qualities of Alison Moyet but want to hear a singer with even more expression and vocal range - and a personality all of her own - then buy this on CD or Vinyl...then just sit back and listen to a masterpiece of music and recording engineering. Better still, go to one of her live concerts and buy “Love” from the lady herself in person." - Tony Andrews, from Listen Carefully

"('LOVE...') IS A SONIC TRIUMPH" - HiFi News Top 50 Albums of all time, in their 50th Anniversary Issue.

"There is an integrity, elegance, and sophistication to her choice of songs, arrangements and instrumentation -- and fundamental interpretation of course -- that boggles the mind" - Neal Milch reviewing 'Love..' on CDBaby.com

"...the album “Love” is an audiophile delight....The amazing sonic qualities of this LP are matched only by the extraordinary musicianship. All tracks were recorded as live performances. The energy and realism is astounding, capturing her voice as whole and unadulterated as ever recorded. Featuring songs written by Leonard Cohen, Kate Bush, Nick Drake, Cole Porter and Collister herself, this album not only can bring you untold musical joy but can serve to demonstrate how great recorded sound can be!" - Review from Elusive Disc

"CC has an incredible, gravity defying voice. Her powerful, rich tones kept the audience captivated... immense vocal range, personality, jokes and story telling was a winning combination...her unique performance was engaging, sincere and inspiring - she took a polite crowd, shook them up a bit and left them uplifted and delighted.. - The Roses, Tewkesbury, April 2006

"....her finest hour. She combines amazing vocal control with emotional authority....the title track is one of the most affecting vocals she's yet committed to record" (Review taken from fROOTS of 'Into the light')
"INTO THE LIGHT"
"It might be a terrible thing to say but it does get my goat that Eva Cassidy continues to have praise heaped upon her when there are plenty of other decent singers around. I know you shouldn't speak ill of the dead and I'm not going to. Eva Cassidy had a terrific voice...but Christine Collister's is just as good and she gets hardly any coverage. That position is unlikely to change with the release of Into The Light, despite the fact it's probably her strongest collection of songs since Blue Aconite.

If you swoon to Eva Cassidy's version of Fields of Gold, trust me,
you'll be knocked out by Christine's rendition of I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For (yes the U2 track). What's even more encouraging is the way Collister's writing skills are developing. Opener "Ashlands" is top drawer. But don't worry, class covers are still evident. As well as U2, Collister takes on Roddy Frame and Paul Simon and wins. Give the girl a break and bring one of Britain's premier voices into the light." (Review taken from BBC Nottingham Online)
"Apt and sensitive instrumentation, liquid harmonies and goosepimple resonance carve a channel through which Collister effortlessly takes us on an emotive journey of heartache, anguish and liberty." BBC Radio 2 Folk Reviews - 'An Equal Love'

"..true edge of the seat stuff.. a classy package that transcends generic branding.. a superb release, for which Christine's stop-you-dead version of Moon River is the perfect closer." Traditional Music Maker - 'An Equal Love '
Review taken from Q-Magazine for "AN EQUAL LOVE"
"An old story this, how critical acclaim grows in equal degree to relative public indifference. Christine Collister fans couldn't care less, knowing as they do, that they track the path of one of the world's finest white singers.

"But what's increasingly clear is how sophisticated her own writing has become. It's accepted that she can give great cover (here Motherless Child, Can't Cry Hard Enough and Sarah McLachlan's Full Of Grace get the full treatment) but now the originals sound the part too. Waiting For My Prayer is an enviably lush ballad, while the jazzy Venus Proud and An Equal Love are songs that will elevate her audience of forty-somethings with their emotion and complexity."

"Quite simply: one of England's greatest voices has now made the ultimate recording. Collister's effect is transfixing" - fROOTS on 'An Equal Love'

Review taken from Q-Magazine for "DARK GIFT OF TIME "
"Despite her evocative, resonant voice, Christine Collister remains a hushed and reflectively acquired taste, a titanic presence on the folk/roots scene, overdue for a portion of mainstream success.

" Excelling as an interpretive singer, she wrings the lifeblood and juices out of a smattering of dark and unconventional tunes. She takes on such gigantic songs as Billie Holiday's God Bless The Child and adds something new, while her readings of Nick Drake's Black Eyed Dog, Elvis Costello's I Want To Vanish and Tom Waits's Dirt In The Ground snag, nuzzle and stretch the songs to an expressive breaking point. Assisted by a red-hot trio of Gerry Conway, Rory McFarlane and Howard Lees and star-studded guest  spots from fellow travellers Danny Thompson, B.J. Cole, John Surman and Richard Thompson, the musical backdrop swoops and eddies between a hushed acoustic ambience and a springy febrile jazz.
